What is cache?

The cache is a space in your computer's memory where your browser saves copies of previously visited Web pages. Your browser uses the cache like short-term memory. Instead of downloading an image from a recently viewed website, it will load the image from your cache folder, thereby making the browsing process a little quicker. The data which is stored in the cache are HTML files, stylesheets, scripts, images and other media files.

Why clearing the cache is important?

The cache can use a lot of disk space on your computer and slow it down. Also, the files in your cache can get out of date and no longer correspond with the files on the Web server. This means you're at risk of not viewing the current version of a website or web application.

Deleting the cache data helps to troubleshoot, helps to increase the loading time of web pages and increases the performance of your computer.

How can the cache affect Convious software?

The cache can cause several issues with the viewing and functionality of Covious checkout on your website:

  • not loading properly
  • loading without any content
  • showing outdated contents
  • breaking the functionality

When you delete all the cached data, your Convious checkout should be looking and performing as normal.
