What is the U-Park integration?
U-Park is a UK parking management company that enforces car parks using camera-based number plate recognition. Cameras record every vehicle entering and leaving the car park, and any vehicle without a registered parking session can receive a parking charge notice.
The Convious integration closes the gap between your ticket shop and the car park: when a guest buys a parking product through Convious and enters their vehicle registration, Convious sends that registration to U-Park in real time, together with the period the parking is valid for. The enforcement system then knows the vehicle has paid, and the guest can drive in and out without doing anything else.
How it works
A guest purchases a car park ticket in your Convious checkout.
After payment, the guest enters their vehicle registration (number plate) in the After Payment Form. This field is mandatory on car park products, so it can't be skipped.
Convious pushes the number plate and the valid parking period to U-Park within seconds of submission.
When the guest arrives, the ANPR cameras recognise the plate as a paid session — no barrier codes, no pay-and-display machine, no validation at the desk.
Example: A family books a day at Sunshine Safari Park and adds a parking ticket for 14 August. After paying, they enter their registration AB12 CDE in the form. Convious immediately registers AB12 CDE with U-Park as valid for 14 August. When their car enters and leaves the car park that day, the cameras match the plate to a paid session and no fine is issued.
💡 Note: The valid parking period is derived from the product the guest purchased — for example, a parking ticket for a specific visit date creates a session covering that date.
What guests need to do
Guests only need to do one thing: enter their number plate correctly after purchase. To help them get it right:
The number plate field appears directly after payment, in the After Payment Form.
Guests who skip the form initially can still complete it later via the link in their order confirmation email.
⚠️ Important: The plate must match the vehicle the guest actually brings. If a guest arrives in a different car than the one they registered, the cameras will not recognise it as paid. Guests who need to change their plate can contact your venue or Convious support before their visit.
Reliability: purchases are never blocked
The push to U-Park is designed to be safe for your sales:
If U-Park's system is temporarily unreachable, the guest's purchase completes normally — the transaction is never blocked or delayed.
Failed pushes are retried automatically until they succeed.
If a push cannot be completed, the Convious support team is able to follow up manually so the guest's session is still registered.
How to get this integration
The U-Park integration is set up per venue by the Convious support team. To get started:
Contact Convious support and let them know your car park is managed by U-Park.
Confirm which of your products are car park tickets — the mandatory number plate field will be enabled on these.
Convious support coordinates the technical connection with U-Park and runs an end-to-end test before your go-live, so you can verify that a test purchase shows up as a valid parking session.
FAQ
What happens if a guest enters their number plate incorrectly? The plate is sent to U-Park exactly as entered. If a guest notices a typo, they should contact your venue or Convious support so the registration can be corrected before their visit.
Does the guest need to display a ticket or scan anything at the car park? No. Recognition is fully automatic via the cameras. The number plate is the ticket.
What if a guest's order is refunded? When an order with a parking ticket is refunded, the associated parking session is no longer valid. If a refunded guest still plans to visit by car, they should purchase a new parking ticket.
Can this integration be used with other parking providers? Convious supports real-time number plate integrations with several parking systems. If your venue uses a different provider, contact Convious support to discuss the options.
