🚩 On-Site Signage: Place QR codes at the park entrance and key junctions.
FAQ:
1. Will the new PWA map still track a guest's location within the park? Yes. Just like the previous app, the new Progressive Web App (PWA) uses the mobile device's built-in GPS to show the guest’s real-time location. When guests first open the map URL, their browser (Safari or Chrome) will simply ask for permission to access their location. Once granted, they will see their "blue dot" on your custom map for easy navigation.
2. Do guests need to download anything from the App Store? No. The beauty of the PWA solution is that it removes the friction of a traditional download. Guests access the map via a URL or QR code. For an "app-like" experience, they can simply select "Add to Home Screen" from their browser menu, which places your park icon right alongside their other apps.
3. What happens if a guest has a poor internet connection or no Wi-Fi? The PWA is designed to be resilient. Once a guest has opened the map for the first time, the core map data and points of interest (POIs) are cached on their device. This allows the map to remain functional and accessible even in areas of the park where cellular or Wi-Fi signals are weak.
4. How do I update my map if a ride closes or a new restaurant opens? Your workflow remains exactly the same. You continue to manage all your categories and POIs through your existing Control Panel. The moment you save a change in the backend, it is pushed live to the guest's PWA map instantly eliminating the need for guests to "update" an app to see the latest information.
5. How do guests access the map if they lose their printed ticket? We have ensured the map is accessible through multiple "Safety Nets." If a guest loses their physical ticket, they can still find the map link on the back of their Apple or Google Wallet pass, within their "My Account" portal on your website, or by scanning any of the QR codes located on your on-site physical signage.
